The Robin Hightower Genetics Graduate Support Fund is an endowed scholarship to support research and graduate students in the field of human genetics. The Elizabeth Wagner Scholarship was established in 2005 by Elizabeth Wagner, a physician and educator who dedicated her career to discovering cures for rare diseases. It is funded by the generosity of Dr. Wagner’s son, William Reed of Seattle. It provides scholarships for M.D. and PhD students in the Department of Genetics and Biostatistics. The scholarship gives preference to women with strong interests in plant biology and genetics. The award is given to the most deserving student.
The Li family established the Elizabeth Wagner Memorial Scholarship in 2005 to honor her memory and her passion for research. This scholarship will provide the recipient with a stipend for their summer research project. A second award will be given to an undergraduate with a particular interest in plant biology. The Liz Wagner Memorial Scholarship will be given to an outstanding undergraduate student pursuing her studies in the Department of Genetics. The winner of the award will receive a $1,000 stipend for their dissertation.

There are currently five DuVall Awards for Undergraduates in the Department of Genetics.

In order to qualify, candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Molecular Sciences and be in good standing with their school.
